Most recently, Music4Games.net wrote in a review: "Huelsbeck's music is extremely engaging in the greatest orchestral tradition of the finest film music and its video game counterparts.
Michiru Yamane is coming to Leipzig

Michiru Yamane, composer at Konami, will attend the Fifth Symphonic Game Music Concert on August 22, 2007 at the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig. It will be her second appearance at the concert series: one year ago she performed her music from "Castlevania" on cembalo as a part of the Fourth Symphonic Game Music Concert.

Michiru Yamane was born in 1963 in the Kagawa prefecture. During her childhood, she learned playing the piano and electric organ and soon started composing music. Her love of music saw her attend the Aichi Prefectural University of Art in Nagoya. It was here that she spent two years and, through the electrical study department, developed a knowledge of making music with synthesizers. During her time at Graduate School, Michiru Yamane turned down an offer for a role as part-time music teacher. Instead, she joined Konami in 1988, where she has since worked on many projects such as "International Track & Field", "SDSnatcher", "Gradius" and the "Castlevania" series. Yamane is now an Assistant Sound Director for Konami.

Music from Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle will be performed at this year's Symphonic Game Music Concert in Leipzig. The arrangement for orchestra and choir was supervised by one of the original composers of the game music, Peter McConnell. For the game's soundtrack he worked together with Michael Land and Clint Bajakian.

Says Peter McConnell: "To be honest, it's a little scary. I'd rather not think too much about my music being performed in Bach's city. It really is a tremendous honor." (4Players.de interview in German language).

With more than 110 musicians on stage, nine soloists and eleven video game composers from all over the world, this year's Symphonic Game Music Concert promises to become the biggest event of the series so far. The First Symphonic Game Music Concert took place in 2003.
